Text: Romans 12:1-8.
“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophesy, in proportion to our faith,” verse 6 (ESV). Many are confused and cheated as they run around “Churches” and “fellowships” looking for a word of “prophesy” from these false “prophets.” The true interpretation of that verse (6) is that when Paul wrote his letters, the gift of prophesy was still in existence. This applies to 1Cor.14:1and Eph. 4:11.
After that the apostles and prophets became the foundation (Eph. 2:20).
Now everyone has to build on this foundation (1 Cor. 3:11). There is no more office of prophet. As a child of God, you can speak prophetically from the Bible. Do not be cheated that some one is prophesying over you. That is a hoax!
Reflect on Ephesians 2:20. What is God teaching you in this verse? How are you going to apply and teach it to your community?
