Text: Joel 2:28-32.
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all fresh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions,” verse 28 (ESV). These fake teachers deceive their audiences and fleece them of some of their hard earned money and other valuables as they sell their “prophecies”. And because many are not rooted in the Word, they are cheated.

The true interpretation of the above verse is that prophet Joel prophesied the coming of the Holy Spirit which was fulfilled on the day of the Pentecost (Acts 2). In the Old Testament the prophecy was limited to few prophets but now this gift of the Holy Spirit is being enjoyed by all who belong to Christ.

Reflect on Acts2:42, what is God teaching you in this verse, and how are you going to apply it to your life and family?

Father in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that my family and I will be devoted to Bible study and prayers. Amen.
