Text: Jeremiah 5:1-16
The city of Jerusalem was so sinful that not a single person was righteous enough to stand in the gap. It was a norm for the people and their leaders to refuse to repent (vv. 1-3) as it was in Sodom (Gen. 18:22-26).

Only in Christ can you stand in the gap for others, because in Christ you are a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17), having the righteous and holiness of Jesus Christ, not of your own.

Meditate on verse 1. How are you going to apply it to your life?

Our Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, I beseech You to wash me clean with the blood of Jesus Christ, and equip me with the fire of Your Word, so that I may be able to stand in the gap for my family, community and the nation. Amen.
