Text: Ezekiel 36:1-38
The nation of Israel sinned against Yahweh, and He sent discipline and suffering to them. But because the surrounding nations were cruel against Israel, Yahweh now promises suffering to the enemies. And then, once again, Yahweh will bless His people Israel. Yahweh delivers his people from their enemies, and He delivers them from His wrath against their sin, all by His grace. Yahweh’s great concern over all is for His name to be honored (v.21), which Israel and the nations profaned.

Christians around the world suffer because they belong to Jesus. But Jesus will someday make the enemies acknowledge that they were wrong, and God’s people were His love (Rev.3:9). And as Yahweh’s concern was about His name being profaned, so it is for Jesus; that both He and His Father be honored and glorified (Joh.8:49). Let us with unfailing zeal, honor and glorify the triune God, with all our strength, for who He is and what He has done, especially for us, His people in
grace.

Meditate on verses 11-12. What is God teaching you in these verses? Do you know God, the Creator of the universe (verse 11)? Do you worship Him?

My Almighty Father in heaven, I thank You for You always protect and
deliver Your people. I pray for those who are persecuted for their faith in You, especially in closed countries. In Your name, Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
