Text: Matthew 19: 1- 12
Today’s marriages are like contracts. This is evil and against God’s statutes. God made the first marriage a covenant relationship; hence, no separation. Wonder why after forgiveness in (yesterday’s text) God goes to marriage? He puts one clear condition for divorce; adultery. But even then, He says you can forgive that aberration. He further goes on to state that not all can or should marry; hence, the need to selectively withstand the pressure of today on people to marry. A fundamental altruist consideration in marriage should be a realization of the fact that it is irreversible.

Meditate on verse 9. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Heavenly Father, I pray that You truly lead me, by the Holy Spirit, back to the basics of Christian living. That all my efforts should be focused on the finished work of Christ and His eternal position on the sanctity of marriage. Help me, Lord, and all those whose marriages have been ceremonialised in Your Church, to live by Your Word. In Jesus’ name I have prayed. Amen.
