Text: Luke 2:1-20
It is amazing that when Jesus Christ was born, He was revealed first to the
unexpected, not the leaders of the time! The shepherds in the field, taking care of their sheep (vv.8-12), were first to behold His glory! Bethlehem was not far from Jerusalem so, some of the sheep these shepherds were herding would be used in sacrifice, for the forgiveness of sins. Thus, in God’s eyes, it is fitting that He first invites the shepherds to go and see the Lamb of God that would take away the sins of the world once-and-for-all (John 1:36).
Meditate on verse 10. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father and God of Peace, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray
that You anoint and qualify me, as You did to Your apostles in the past, to
spread the good news of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
