Text: Isaiah 48:1-22
In this chapter we see God revealing the sins being committed by His children (vv. 1-8), especially their worship in hypocrisy, lacking true righteousness (vv.1-2). God assures His children that He would rescue them for His own sake and not by their own merit because of their treacherous deeds (vv. 9-11). In the chapter we also see God encouraging His children to depend on His power for deliverance and not on any other (vv. 12-15). God assures them it was their own stubbornness that brought them to captivity and that it will be purely God’s grace that they would receive deliverance (vv. 16-19). The Lord goes on to announce the deliverance of His children but promises that the unrepentant ones, the wicked will not have peace of God (vv. 20-22).

Your deeds cannot qualify you for God’s mercy to be saved, it is purely by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. You must repent, receive and believe in Jesus Christ and turn away from your wickedness in order to be at peace with God.

Meditate on verse 12. How are you going to apply it to your life?
My heavenly Father, give me the ability to listen to you always. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
