Text: Matthew 6:16-24.
“….that your fasting may not be seen by others but your Father who is in secret.” And your Father who sees in secret will reward you,” verse 18. Do not pretend to fast for a show when there is no brokenness in you. Let your fast be of humility trusting that God who sees the heart will reward you. It is only God who rewards with perfect gifts and the only one who can judge the heart of man. He sees all things even those that are done in secret.
Reflect on verse 18, what is God teaching you and how are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, guard me against the spirit of pride, for there is nothing I can hide from you. Help me to overcome temptations of this nature and all others. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
