Text: Acts 27:1-44.
Paul the Apostle is headed for Rome, and in his days travel by sea was faster than over land. He and his friends were put aboard a ship that was going to sail close to the northern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. A great storm blew up and for a long time the crew was uncertain about their safety (vv.1-2, 14, 18-20). But Paul was certain they would make it because the Lord Jesus Christ had already told him he would speak in Rome.
In our daily lives the world around us often seems to be out of control. But as followers of Christ, we must trust that all things are in God’s Sovereign plan and control. We may not understand very well, but it is not possible that anything in creation can operate outside of God’s plan and control. Knowing and remembering that God is absolutely Sovereign should bring us great comfort in the face of any difficulty.
Meditate on verse 35. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank You for everything You have done for me. Amen.
