Text: Matthew 15:21-39
When Jesus Christ remained silent on the request of the Gentile woman His disciples were puzzled. And in order to get rid of her, Jesus’ disciple requested Him to chase her away as she had become a bother (vv.22-23).
You need to note that Jesus was not really rejecting the woman. Instead He may have wanted to test her faith or even use the situation as a good platform to educate the multitudes that faith is always available to all the people; Jews and Gentiles.

For Jesus Christ to use the word “dog”. He was not abusing the woman, He was instead displaying the attitude of the Jews in order to compare it with what He was standing for. Jesus Christ used the term “dog” because traditionally Jews considered all pagan Gentiles as dogs, not fitting to receive God’s blessing. But Jesus proved them wrong, the woman’s daughter was healed (v.28)!

Meditate on verse 28. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Merciful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I accept that You did not come into this world as a Master Healer, but a Saviour and Lord. I pray that You endow me with faith in its fullness; full, pressed down and overflowing. Amen.
