Text: Nehemiah 13:1-31.
“Before this, Eliashib the Priest had been put in charge of the store rooms of the house of our God. He was closely associated with Tobiah, and he had provided him with a large room formerly used to store the grain offering…,” verses 4-5 [NIV]. How could Tobiah, an Ammorite, an enemy of Israel, who resisted the rebuilding of temple be given a big room within the temple? This was because of the greed of the Priest who did it for his personal gain.

Watch out when you or your church make such serious mistakes for gain.
If you are involved with one, repent. Align with those whose work is to promote God’s agenda.
Meditate on verse 10. What is God teaching you in this verse?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help our leaders especially in the church to have a discerning spirit that will keep them from forging ungodly alliances even if there is monetary gain attached. Amen.
