Text: Psalm 85: 1-13
In this Psalm, the sons of Korah anticipate that God will show His grace and covenant love once more for His children – the Israelites. The Psalmist, the sons of Korah, maintain that God who was merciful in the past, though angry at that moment, will forgive and restore His children in the future. God punishes His errant children but maintains His promise if one repents. A repentant heart will receive God’s salvation, for God is near to those who fear Him (v.9). Receive and believe in Jesus Christ so that you are ready when He comes to establish His Kingdom where mercy, truth, righteousness and peace will characterise His future Kingdom (vv. 10-11) – the Messianic Kingdom.
Meditate on verse 9. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that the fear of You will grip this nation. Let many seek and find You. Amen.
