Text: Matthew 4:1-11.
Like all other human beings, Jesus was tempted by the devil who tried to take advantage of the vulnerable position that Jesus Christ was in.
He had been fasting, He was alone, and He was hungry, and the devil wanted to capitalize on that. But thank God, the Scriptures say that He was led by Holy Spirit and He defeated the Devil (verse 11). Think about your own Christian living and overcoming temptations. It is said that we all get testimonies from the tests we go through.
Reflect on verse 10, what is God teaching you in this verse, and how are you going to apply to your life and family?
Lord God Almighty, teach me how to depend on the Scriptures and by the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome temptation and hence defeat the devil. In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ our Saviour I pray. Amen.
