Texts: Matthew 28:1-10, Luke 24:1; John 20:1
“Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. … But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.

Come, see the place where he lay,” (Matt.28:1-6- ESV). A follower of Jesus Christ enters rest by faith in the resurrected Jesus Christ (Heb. 4:3). Therefore it is important to rest on the first day of the week on which Jesus Christ resurrected.

Reflect on Hebrews 4, what is God teaching you concerning Sabbath for Christians? What truths and encouragement do you get from this chapter?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for giving us a day of rest. Thank You for the resurrection of Jesus Christ for in Him we get proper and true rest. Amen.
