Monday, 6th December 2021. That Jesus Christ would be a descendant of David
Text: 2 Samuel 7:1-29
David made an offer to build a house for the Lord (v.2). The Lord turned down his request (v.5). This does not mean that God had rejected David; instead, God planned to do something bigger for David; his dynasty will last forever (vv.14-16).
The prophecy above was ultimately fulfilled in Christ (Heb.1:5). Jesus Christ, a direct descendant of David, was the subject of the promise (Acts 2:22-36). Christ will reign forever; now He reigns in His Spiritual
Kingdom in heaven. And when He returns on earth He will rule forever on the new earth, the new Jerusalem (Luke 1:30-33; Rev. 21). Be in God’s
Kingdom! You reside in God’s Kingdom through His Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord!
Meditate on Acts 2:38. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I repent of all my sins.
