Text: 2 Chronicles 29:1-36
When the wicked King Ahaz died, his son, Hezekiah, became King. Hezekiah was a good man because he did what pleased Yahweh. The first thing we read of Hezekiah’s activities is the repairs to the Temple. He also gathered together the priests and the Levites and instructed them to restore proper worship of Yahweh. He recognized that the wrath of God was against them because of the faithlessness and idolatry of His covenant people. By the grace of God, the people were returned to Yahweh (vv.31-36)
King Hezekiah’s restoration of Yahweh’s worship is a picture of the work of King Jesus. Ever since the sin of Adam, Christ has been restoring the proper worship of God. We are the Temple He is building. We are the priests, as well as the congregation, whom He calls to worship. Let us daily bring the sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving from hearts that love and obey Him.

Meditate on verse 2. How are you going to respond to it?
My heavenly loving Father, help me do the right things as I follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
