Text: Isaiah 40:1-8
Before Jesus Christ comes, Prophet Isaiah points to someone who will come before Him. The “voice in the wilderness and desert”, means people who are alienated and in anguish, and to “prepare” means to remove obstacles (vv.3-5). Prophet Isaiah points to the future when people will experience the joy of salvation. However, before that time, some forerunner will come to prepare the hearts of men and women to receive the Kingdom of God.

The above prophecy was fulfilled when John the Baptist came, baptizing people in River Jordan (John 1:23). He prepared People’s hearts before the arrival of Christ. We believers are urged to prepare and maintain our
bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6.19).

Meditate on John 1:12. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for Jesus Christ
who took away all my sins. Amen.
