Text: Psalm 87:1-7
In this Psalm the sons of Korah explain God’s love for Jerusalem and exalts it as the centre of global worship in the Messianic Kingdom which is to be established during Jesus’ Second coming. Then every nation will worship Jesus Christ and Israel will be a favoured nation. The city of God (Jerusalem) is spoken of jealously (v.3) and at one time; Rahab, a monster of ancient pagan mythology which represented Egypt in the Old Testament (cf Ps 89:10; Isaiah 30:7, 51:9) and Babylon the fierce enemies of Israel, will one day worship Jesus Christ in Zion (v.4) (cf, Isaiah 19:19-25). Be ready in Jesus Christ to witness this glorious period!
Rahab (Egypt) and Babylon were ancient super powers of the world.
Meditate on verse 6. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for registering my name in the Book of life. Amen.
