Text: Nehemiah 8:1-18.
“…Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength,” verse 10 [NIV].
Nehemiah encouraged the children of Israel to celebrate as they share with those who did not have. They heard the words that God punishes sin but also rewards obedience. They had sinned yet God had not destroyed them out of His grace, instead they heard that the joy of the Lord was their strength. Indeed Christ is our strength, for on our own we are enemies of God, in Christ we have His righteousness.

Meditate on verses 9-10. What is God teaching you in these verses? How are you going to apply them to your life?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I trust that You are my strength.
Amen.
