Text: 1 John 3:11-24.
“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth” (verse 18).
The Bible teaches us to be generous to each other as children of God.
Generous in terms of money, possessions and time. However, when the new teaching or experience is telling you to give to a particular individual, especially to some pastors who grow richer at the expense of their followers, please flee from such teachings. The Bible encourages us to grow together in a fellowship, not one at the expense of the other.
Look at the Christians of East African Revival, there is something good you can learn from them, which themselves learnt from the Bible.
Reflect on verse 18, how are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me not to be obsessed with material things and money that You have given to me. Help me to share my wealth with the vulnerable in my community. Amen.
