Text: Ephesians 5:22-24. The roles of husbands and wives are often confused in people’s thinking, especially in our present age. Before God, husbands and wives are equal, but He designed their roles to be different. The man is the head, the authority, and the wife is his helper (Gen.2:18). Therefore, the wife submits to the husband’s authority. The man is not better, the woman is not worse, but they do have different roles; even as God the eternal Son, Jesus Christ, submitted to God the eternal Father, even though the persons of the Trinity are the same in substance, equal in power and glory.
Reflect on verse 22-24, what is God teaching you in these verses? How are you going to apply them to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that wives will submit to their husbands and husbands will love their wives. I pray for harmony in families. Amen.
