Text: Revelation 13:1-10.
“…everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain,” (verse 8). From eternity God Himself wrote a book of life, the heavenly roster of those destined to be saved through the purchase of Christ’s blood (Rev. 3:5).

The names of all believers are registered in the Book of Life, symbolizing God’s knowledge of who belong to Him from eternity. Because they were elected by God from eternity, they cannot be destroyed, their bodies may be destroyed but not their souls. In the time of tribulation and persecution, let believers know that all things are concluded in God’s decree and that for the warfare being waged against the Church, will be avenged by God Himself against His enemies.

Reflect on verse 8, if God knows His people who will be saved, and the names are already in the Book of Life, then why should one preach the gospel of salvation. Can one lose eternal life? (No, no one can lose eternal life!). What is God teaching you in this verse?

Father, thank You for writing my name from eternity in the Book of Life. Thank You for the miracle of salvation. In the name of Jesus
Christ, I thank You. Amen.
