Acts 25:1- 26:1-32.
The Lord Jesus Christ is using the civil governments to accomplish His plan and purpose in bringing Paul to the city of Rome (23:11). We should remember that Jesus is Lord over all things – He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
In fact, Paul says that the civil governments are instituted by God (Rom.13:1), they are His servants (Rom.13:4) and His ministers (Rom.13:6)! The Lord Jesus Christ is using His civil servants for the advancement of His gospel and His Church.

It’s easy to think that the civil government and the Church are completely separate and should never interact. But this passage shows that there is overlap (although the details are for another time). However, it is not the place for the civil authorities to govern the Church, and it is not the business of the Church to govern society. The Church also should not be relying on the civil authorities for religious governance. Jesus is Lord and Governor of His Church, through the work of God the Holy Spirit, through the Lord’s ordained Church ministers.

Meditate on verse 25:7 and 26:25. How are you going to apply these verses to your life?

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray that the devil will never find any stronghold on me. Amen.
