Text: Luke 3: 21-38
Instead of going to Jerusalem and associate with established religious leaders, Jesus Christ chose to come to River Jordan to be with those who were repenting (v.21).
Jesus Christ had no sin to repent of in order to be baptized, but He did it because He was both God and human. He got baptised and later died to identify with humanity.

He also lived a holy life and rose from the dead, a fit that only God could do. The dove came to signify God’s approval. A dove is a sign of gentleness. Jesus’ baptism was one of several texts in Scripture, in which all the three Persons of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are mentioned at ago (v.22).

Some people promote wrong teaching that God is One Person who appears in three distinct modes, appearing one at a time. This is wrong and dangerous teaching. The truth is that there is One God who exists in three Persons; Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, of one substance, co-equal and co-eternal. You can relate and fellowship with this Trinitarian God only through Jesus Christ when you receive and believe in Him (John 14:6).

Meditate on verse 22. What special occurrence do you notice in this verse? What do you understand by the word; Trinity?

Our God in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank You for the revelation of the Trinity to mankind. We thank You for the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in us and, indeed, Your church here on earth. Amen.
