Text: Jeremiah 1: 1-9
When prophet Jeremiah is called he was very young, 18 years old only. He used this fact as an excuse to avoid the calling that God had placed on his life (v.6).

He could not imagine speaking very unpleasant things, as he would later do, to already established prophets, priests and elders both religious and political leaders, including princes and kings of Judah. However, the Lord encourages him not to give excuses, but to instead trust and obey Him (v.7). The Lord tells Jeremiah that He will be with him to strengthen him and that he should not fear the established faces of the elders (v. 8).

Jesus Christ, on commissioning His disciples, told them to go forth in His power and He promised them that He will be with them always until the end of the age (Matt. 28:18-20). If the Lord calls you, just trust and obey Him, for He will equip and protect you.

Meditate on verses 7-8. How are you going to apply them to your life?
Heavenly and ever faithful Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I thank You
for Your promise that You will be with me to protect and deliver me from
all enemies as I proclaim Your Word. Amen.
