Text: Deuteronomy 18:1-22
Again, Yahweh, through Moses, warns His people not to do the horrible things done by those who do not belong to Yahweh. The reason why Yahweh is driving out the people of the land is because of their great sins, and Israel should not commit those sins, or Yahweh will destroy them also (vv.9-14). One of the sins
mentioned is the sacrificing of children to the idols and false gods. Children are created in God’s image, given as a gift and a responsibility to parents, and are members of God’s covenant.
This problem of sacrificing children still exists today, which we call abortion.
Children are killed while still in the mother’s womb. They are being sacrificed because of fears, because of careers, because of sexual freedom without responsibility, etc. But the Lord Jesus brought children to Himself and blessed them (Matt.19:14) and taught us that we must be like them, if we want to enter the Kingdom of God. Children are precious, and we must treasure them.
Please don’t have an abortion and help stop others from trying to have them.
Be kind and gentle with those ladies and help them find a good solution for life.
Meditate on verse 9 – 14. How are you going to apply them to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. Make me blameless through the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Amen.
