Text: Psalm 112: 1-10
This Psalm teaches two main areas: First, the character of the godly (vv.1-5).
That the godly fear the Lord (v. 1) and delight in Him. They have righteousness, not of their own but of Jesus Christ, therefore they fellowship with God (v. 3).

The godly are compassionate (v. 4b) and generous (v.5). Secondly this Psalm teaches us the blessings that come with godliness; they receive heritage of nations (v. 6), they receive wealth and riches (v. 3) and they cannot be shaken (v. 6). However, it should be noted that godly families or individuals are not always blessed with riches and good health as the Psalm alludes to that (vv. 7-8). That sometimes they will have bad news (evil tidings) (v. 7) and enemies (v.8), whose remedy is that they will never be shaken, they are secured in Christ.
When you are godly and these other challenges come, they will work together for good (Rom. 8:28). The enemies of God, however, will find themselves powerless and angry (v. 10) for a man reaps what he sows (Gal. 6:7).

Meditate on verses 6-7. How are you going to apply them to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me stand firm in the midst of challenges.
Amen
