Text: Ezekiel 42:1-20
What is especially important to note are the chambers mentioned in verses 13-14.
These are set aside for the use of priests. Offerings for their use are placed there, and so is the clothing used for the work of ministry before Yahweh. In the Book of Zechariah, the Prophet had a vision of the high priest Joshua standing before Yahweh, filthy and accused by Satan. But Yahweh cleansed him, and he stood before Yahweh acceptable.
Only God can make us acceptable to enter into His presence, because we all are unfit. But Jesus alone is the Priest, our great High Priest, who is perfectly righteous and holy to stand before the Father and minister. We should be so grateful that God gave us such a perfect Priest. It is only because of who Jesus is and what He did that we can enter into God’s presence. By God’s grace, we live a grateful, loving, life of obedience to God.
Meditate on verses 13-14. What is God teaching you in these verses? Do you realise how special it is to serve the Lord.
Merciful Father, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive me for the many
times I have not taken my service to You seriously; presuming upon Your
goodness in the familiarity I have developed over time. Amen.
