Text: 1 Samuel 11:1-15

In this Chapter there is focus on the blessings of Saul’s kingship. When an enemy threatens the people of Jabesh Gilead is one place! The Holy Spirit fell upon Saul and enables him to bring about victory. Eager to honour the new beloved king, the people desire to kill fellow Israelites who have declined to join the battle. But Saul makes a right decision and stops all such plans. Samuel then summons the nation to gather together and renews the kingdom. It is a great period of buoyancy for Israel.

This is how the work of the Kingdom is intended to be. Sadly, we will read that King Saul will soon fall away from Yahweh, and trouble will come upon the nation. But our eternal righteous King, Jesus, will reighn eternally with justice and righteousness. And we who are united to Him, who are citizens of His Kingdom, we will be blessed forever!

Meditate on verse 13. How are you going to apply it to your life?

Almighty and ever merciful father, I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, that You give me a forgiving spirit. So that my peace in You may be full and steadfast. Amen.
