Text: Psalm 110:1-7
King David is the writer of this Psalm, however, he is not writing about himself. He is writing about his Lord, the Messiah, the One who will sit on David’s throne at God’s right hand forever. However, in Israel, kings
and priests were different persons. Priests were descended from Aaron, and kings were to be from David’s line.
Eternal King, Messiah Jesus, though He was from David kingly line, received His priestly office like that of Melchizedek. The writer of Hebrews explains how Messiah can be a priest and king in Heb.7. Jesus
Christ our King rules and defends us, and conquers the enemies and as our High Priest He offered Himself for us, and intercedes for us, to God the Father. Without Christ, you cannot see God. We receive Christ
through faith (Eph. 2:8-9).
Meditate on Heb. 5:9. How are you going to respond to it?
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for blessing me with the gift of salvation. Amen.
