Text: 1 Kings 10:1-29
God gave King Solomon great wealth, unlike any other king, before or after. He was given material wealth: gold, gems, precious wood, special animals, etc. The King was also richly blessed with wisdom and knowledge. So great was the King’s reputation that the Queen of Sheba (located in south west Arabia, about 1,200 miles from Jerusalem, perhaps Sudan) came to visit and interview Solomon. She rightly opined that King Solomon’s people must be very happy (v.8).

But Solomon’s grandeur cannot be compared to simple flowers (Mat.6:29)!
There will never be a more glorious King than King Jesus. King Jesus designed the flowers, He is the fountain of all wisdom, and He owns everything, because He is the Creator of everything. Are you happy to belong to this splendid King, or are you letting the worries of the world burden your heart and bring you sadness? You are blessed! –more blessed than you can ever know. Be Happy!!

You belong to the King who is infinitely far above all other kings. One day you will be with Him forever, to worship Him and enjoy Him without end. Today is Good Friday, this glorious King Jesus is shamefully killed on the cross so that you and I are justified before the Almighty Father!

Meditate on verse 9. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Our heavenly Father, we thank You for the incredible gift of Good Friday; and for the wisdom You have given our leaders. Forgive them for the sins they have committed and for the wrong decisions they have made. In the name of Jesus Christ we have prayed. Amen.
