Text: Matthew 4:1-11.
“…It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that comes from the mouth of God,’” (verse 4). For proper interpretation of God’s Word you should believe that every one word of Scripture is God’s Word. Therefore it has authority from God. God’s Word is a sword to use in spiritual warfare. We must know the Word of God and obey it. You realise that the devil had memorized the Scripture but had not obeyed it.
Reflect on verses 4, 5 and 6, what is God teaching you in these verses?
In verse 6, the devil told Jesus Christ to throw Himself down, do you realise that Satan only persuades, but has no power to compel you! So do not yield to his tricks and manipulations.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, teach me Your Word so that I may become strong in faith and defeat the devil to the glory of Your name. Amen.
