Text: 1 Samuel 24:4-22.
David was being persecuted and hunted by King Saul to be killed. When, however, David found King Saul and his soldiers exhausted and asleep, he did not kill Saul as he was being advised, but only cut a piece of the King’s robe (V 4) simply because he was ‘the anointed of the Lord’.
When David brought this to the attention of King Saul, he confessed and accepted that David was going to be the King of Israel. (V 20)
What lesson do you learn from this reading? Is there anything you need to apply in your personal life? How do you treat the servants of the Lord – the anointed?
Lord God Almighty, in Jesus Christ our Lord, teach me how to relate to your chosen servants. Amen.
