ACP Update – Sunday 14th August, 2022
The ACP Team is grateful to God for His faithfulness for the Cathedral Building project. We continue to execute works (in Lots) under Phase 3 despite the challenges that arose from the COVID-19 Pandemic and slow recovery of the sector. The new Sanctuary is fully plastered internally and external works for storm water drainage, paving, boundary fencing and gates were done. Thank you, for your continued support.
Project completion for all works and installations is anticipated within one and half years. However, in preparation to host the Kampala Diocese 50th Anniversary celebrations in August this year, the ACP team together with the Cathedral leadership, the Consultants and Contractors are working to ensure that the site will be in usable state to host the events as desired with the help of God. Brethren, the finishing line is near, do not despair! We encourage you to continue to: Pray, Participate, Provide and (mobilize) Partners for this great work as we honour God.

Technical Status
Effective April 2022, the project Consultants were re-engaged in line with the statutory requirements under the Building Control Regulations. The pending mortgage settlement and ownership challenges for Plot 4 Lugard road have delayed the acquisition of the Building Permit required from KCCA in order for full scale site operations.
Due to interfaces and overlaps in works and installations for the various Lots, a single procurement cycle for all pending scope will be initiated after August 2022. Currently, the following works are on-going:
- Lot 5A – Public Washrooms (re-located) and Selected offices on Lower Ground
- Lot 6A – Floor Finishes in Terrazzo (for high traffic and wet areas)
- Lot 8A – Windows to Vertical Walls – samples approved and mass fabrication in progress.
- Lot 9 – Acoustic Ceiling – under procurement (samples were provided while tender documentation and solicitation are in progress)
‘‘Kola Wotuula’’ Ceiling Works Campaign”
The Kolo Wotuula Ceiling Campaign commenced in March 2022 and is intended to organize us in smaller units to raise 1,000 individuals / families / fellowships / home cells each contributing at least Ugx 1,500,000/= towards the cost of the acoustic ceiling.
The recent indicative estimate targeted for Ceiling works is Ugx 1.5 Billion as updated. The total collections received as at 9th August, 2022 is UGX 381,996,611/=
