ACP Update For Sunday 12th June, 2022
The ACP Team is grateful to God for His faithfulness for the Cathedral Building project. Over the last two
years we were able to continue with works (in Lots) under Phase 3 despite the challenges arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic. We made significant progress on wall finishes (plastering) and external works for storm water drainage, paving, boundary fencing and gates, among other improvements. Thank you, for your continued support.
Kampala Diocese is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year! We bless the Lord for His Ministry. The desire of the Diocese is to hold the celebrations in the new sanctuary. The ACP team together with the Cathedral leadership, the Consultants and Contractors are working to ensure that the site will be in usable
state to host the events as desired with the help of God. Brethren, the finishing line is near, do not despair! We encourage you to continue to: Pray, Participate, Provide and (mobilize) Partners for this great work as we honour God.
B. Technical Status
Effective April 2022, the project Consultants have been re-engaged in line with the statutory requirements under the Building Control Regulations.
The following works are currently on-going:
• Lot 5A – Public Washrooms (re-located) and Selected offices on Lower Ground
• Lot 6A – Floor Finishes in Terrazzo (for high traffic and wet areas)
• Lot 8A – Windows to Vertical Walls
A contractor for Lot 9 – Acoustic Ceiling is being procured and is expected to start in May 2022.

‘‘Kola Wotuula’’ Ceiling Works Campaign”.
As you may be aware, the Diocese of Kampala will be celebrating her golden jubilee in August 2022 and this occasion will be celebrated in the new Cathedral.
We therefore need to fast track the construction of the Acoustic Ceiling to have the facility usable on that day. The cost for that ceiling is estimated at 1.2 billion Uganda Shillings and we launched a drive tagged ‘Kola Wotuula’ targeting 1000 Fellowships, Individual, Parishioners, Families, Groups, Home cell teams to
contribute a minimum of 1.5 million Shillings to have this amount raised. We are therefore requesting you to be part of this drive and the grand day for handing in this money will be on Sunday 26.06.2022
in all services. To date we have raised 122,219,012= Ugandan Shillings.
