Text: Luke 14:25-33.
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple,” verse 26. (ESV). Here to “hate” means, to love less even of self and love Jesus Christ more.
Our comfort and satisfaction should come from Jesus Christ and not from relatives, friends or over trusting your own strength. As a family member, stand firm for the cause of Jesus Christ, your Lord and Saviour. Let us love Christ more than our own lives. Many times we deny and hate God by our actions just because of love for ourselves. As a family member be ready to meet the cost of serving God’s agenda.
Reflect on verse 26, in what area of your life is this verse speaking to you? What cost have you incurred in the past by serving God. How are you going to apply this verse to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me to stand firm as I serve You in this generation. Give me encouragement and victory. Amen.
