Text: Jeremiah 32:36-44
The passage for today is closely related to the one we considered yesterday, regarding the heart. Jeremiah is looking to the future when God will make a new covenant (a gracious relationship in union, based on oath, sealed by death) and He will always do good to His people, not like His removal of Israel when they rejected Him. In order to have such a relationship, Yahweh is going to put the fear of Him in their hearts.
Sometimes “fear” means being terrified by danger, but in this passage fear means reverent worship. God will have to transform His people, because they cannot change themselves.Jeremiah was looking to the time of Jesus’ earthly ministry and what followed. Those who have been converted, given new birth by God the Holy Spirit, wherever they are in the world, they are the citizens of the Kingdom. They have been given new hearts to fear God, to honour and worship Him alone. If you genuinely trust Jesus Christ to be your Saviour, it is because you have been regenerated and given a new heart, which is the core of your being. Your Heavenly Father has transformed you. You are now able to love and serve God from a transformed heart. Indeed, you are expected to live a transformed life, to the glory of God.

Meditate on verse 38. How are you going to apply this verse to your life?Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, thank You for being my God. Amen.
