Text: Exodus 23:1-19
We do not make money because of our own strength and skills. Yahweh is the One who determines what we will have or not. He gives us skills, jobs, etc., so that we can earn an income. Everything is from God. The verse 16, instructs us
about the principle that we must give back to the Lord a portion of what He has given to us. Giving back to God is a way of acknowledging that all things come from Him; it is a way to show gratitude for His gifts, and it is also a way of
demonstrating trust that He will provide.

It is very tempting not to give back to the Lord a tithe of our income, especially if the income is low. But part of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ was to restore us to a condition where we trust God to provide all that we need.
Whatever you have, all of it belongs to God, not to you; you are only a steward.

Everything is given by God; you did not provide it. Everything is from God. Give back to God the ten percent. It shows that you confess that everything is from Him, that you are grateful for what He has given to you, and you trust that He
will provide for all your needs. Faithful tithing is a way of worshipping God through your work.

Meditate on verse 16. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, the Lord of heaven and earth, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me be a faithful giver of what You have entrusted to me. Amen.
