Text: Jeremiah 51:1-64
The Lord says that Babylon will be winnowed like chaff and be blown away by wind (v.2). Babylon that was allowed to oppress God’s people is now going to be judged. God cannot allow evil to go unpunished, much as He can bring good out of it. Many times the wicked may seem to succeed; but it is for a short time and punishment is at hand (vv.60-64). Do not admire or be tempted to follow them for they are soon going to be punished for their evil deeds. To avoid total destruction you must hide in Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord. God is sovereign and His judgement is real.
Meditate on verse 52. How are you going to respond to it?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, destroy all the Idols in our land. Cleanse
us with the blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.
