Text: Psalm 139:1-24
It is natural for humans to want to keep secrets; our lives seem to be controlled by the shame of what is hidden. But you and I are called to something far better; to have our sins and souls exposed to the one who knows everything about us already, and yet know that we are free and forgiven. By faith we are clothed with the righteousness of Christ, and because of that, we are welcomed before the One who knows everything that we have ever done or will do, and yet fully loves us!
But the One who loves you fully, does so in power. He made you, and wants you to be fully aware of the amazing power that is present in you.
You are exactly as He intended by His creative power, and He wants you to enjoy all that it means. You have value, purpose, and He even wants you to know His will and His mind. We cannot comprehend fully who He is, but He chooses lovingly to teach and guide us into the knowledge of who He is to the level He intends for humans. What this knowledge produces in us is a strong confidence in the future, for we are loved and held by a power far greater than death. So, be transparent and open with the One who loves you the most! He will reveal who you really are, and lead you in repentance.
Meditate on verses 1-4. What is God teaching you in these verses?
Almighty and Omniscient Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I confess all my sins to You and pray that You forgive me all my sins, for there is nothing I can hide from You. Amen.
