Text: Exodus 17:1-16.

With every need, the Israelites grumbled. In essence, they declared their lack of confidence in Moses and God. “…Why did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” Verse 3 (ESV). They went on to question if God was with them (v. 7). These were the people who had witnessed plagues in Egypt, the Passover and had crossed the Red Sea on
dry ground, but still doubted! They could still see a pillar of cloud, depicting God’s presence (13:21), but they did not believe that God was with them.

Jesus Christ had performed miracles before multitudes, proving that indeed He was the Messiah, but instead of embracing Him, they cried to Pilate, “… crucify him” (Mark 15:13). The choice is yours; you can receive and believe in Christ and receive eternal life or you reject Him and suffer the effects of sin.

Meditate on verse 4. How are you going to apply it to your life?
My heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I cry to You to save my nation. Amen.
