Text: Luke: 19:1-48.
Jesus Christ wept over Jerusalem because the city residents had rejected Him, God, the giver of life, the source of salvation. Soon the nation suffered for rejecting Him, in AD70 the city was destroyed and six thousand Jews were killed under the command of Titus, the son of Vespasian the Roman Emperor.
Many in this country, including some of our key opinion leaders have indeed rejected Jesus Christ. This is evidenced by high levels of idol worship, witchcraft and sorcery. Thus unless the true Christians stand in the gap, the consequences are going to be severe, if we are not already in that situation. We must repent and forgive each other and humble ourselves and seek God’s forgiveness in Jesus Christ! We have indeed committed evil: the shedding of innocent blood, idolatry, immorality and stealing on an individual and on a nation. God is willing to forgive us if only we repent! (2 Chron.7:14) Amen.
Meditate on verse 41-44. How are you going to apply those verses to your life and community?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive us and heal our land. Let the blood of Jesus Christ wash away all our sins. Amen.
