Text: Nehemiah 3:1-32.
“Shallum son of Hallohesh, ruler of a half-district of Jerusalem, repaired the next section with the help of his daughters,” verse 12 [NIV]. The whole of this chapter is focusing on rebuilding the wall and it is important to note that everyone was involved: the priests, the laity, crafts men, tradesmen by town and family. Even the daughters of Shallum, were also involved in the rebuilding of the wall with their father.
Involve your children; sons and daughters in serving God. Teach them to worship the Living God by their words and deeds. Let them advance the gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrate Christ like character.
Meditate on verse 12. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray for parents to reserve time and energy and be able to disciple their children so as to serve You wherever they are placed. Amen.
