Genesis 13:1-18.
When Adam sinned, he was cast out of the garden, separated from God and from the land. Since then humanity has been wandering. Though a person might “own” property, what he possesses is temporary and soon comes to nothing. But God’s plan has been to restore humanity back to Himself and to the land. In Gen.13 God led Abraham to Canaan and promised to give him the land. It was a type of the restoration of the entire earth that God will give to His people in eternity (Romans 4:13).
This promise will be completely fulfilled in Christ, at the end of the world. The Lord says through the prophet Isaiah, “I create new heavens and a new earth” (Isa.65:18). The theme of looking forward to the new earth is repeated again by Peter and John (2 Pet.3:13; Rev.21:1).This is your destiny in Christ.
Meditate on verses 14-18. How are you going to apply verse 18 to your life?
My heavenly Father, help me build prayer altars wherever You will place me, especially at my work place. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
