Text: James 4:1-17.
“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God”, verse 4-ESV. Being adulterous was used in the Old Testament to depict Israel’s unfaithfulness to God. Indeed many are unfaithful to God and therefore very adulterous people today. Look at music, the pleasures you yearn for and the clothes you put on, do they honor God or they are influenced by the world’s standard and pleasures? Your beliefs and actions are telling people that you are either adulterous or godly person.
Meditate on verse 11. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, protect me from an adulterous lifestyle. Help me to honour You with all that I am and have. Amen.
