Text: Luke 12: 1-21.
‘And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions,’” verse 15 (ESV). Do not envy other people’s riches, especially money because you may not fully know the source of those monies. Some may look rich externally but very miserable internally (Rev.3:17). Some may look rich but heading to hell.
In coveting someone’s riches, you may unknowingly covet his/her going to hell. Work diligently and trust God to provide for you.
Reflect on verse 15, how are you going to apply this verse to your life and family?
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive me for the times I have coveted other people’s riches. Help me to work diligently and trust You for a better life. Amen.
