Texts: Psalms 29:2; 95:6-7; Matthew 4:1-11.
“Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him’”, verse 10 (LASB).

Jesus Christ rejected idolatry. The devil enticed Him with the whole world but He refused. You too will always be enticed by the devil but, like Jesus Christ, you need to stand firm against the devil. Your stand will bear a testimony, giving glory to God. You will effectively stand against the devil only in Christ.

Reflect on verse 10, what is the devil enticing you with at the moment; the riches of this world or fame? What false gods are you worshipping now – power, women, riches, men, leaders? Repent and worship the true God of the Bible, Yahweh!

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I choose to worship You, for you alone are the true God, the Creator of heaven and the earth, and all the seen and unseen. You created everything from nothing by Your powerful word. Amen.
