Text: Jeremiah 12:7-17
It is terrible that because of Sin, God is going to forsake His house, the temple, His heritage and hand over His people to their enemies (v.7). This is a sad moment not only for the people, but for God as well, more so, because tradition had it that the defeat of a nation was the defeat of her god. The Lord knew it, and, more to that, God loved His people whom He called His inheritance. But because of His holiness, He cannot and could not compromise with Sin. When God’s children are in pain, he too feels the pain.

The reason why Jesus Christ wept at the tomb of Lazarus (John 11:35) was that now man could die. And this was inspite of the lie by the Snake in the Garden that man would surely not die after eating the forbidden fruit (Gen.
3:4); whenever you disobey God, you cause Him pain!
Meditate on verse 7-8. What is God teaching you in these verses?

Our holy and heavenly King and Father of all Creation, I pray that You forgive me for the many times I have caused You pain and grieved Your Holy Spirit, because of my sins. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
