Text: Luke 24:36-53
By Jesus telling His disciples that everything written about Him “…in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms…”( v.44, ESV), He meant the entire Old Testament was pointing to Him. For example, His role as a Prophet (Deut. 18:25-20), His sufferings (Psalm 22; Isaiah 53), His resurrection (Psalm 16:9- 11); Isaiah 53:10-11). In other words, every part of Scripture bears witness to Jesus Christ. Therefore, no preacher of the Word should come up with his own stories; but every believer and especially every preacher is to be a witness of what God has done (v.48).
Meditate on verse 48. How are you going to apply it to your life?
Father in heaven, I pray You open my understanding so that I can be a true
witness of Your saving power and everlasting love. Amen.
