Text: Romans 4: 1-25.
It is impossible to be righteous by keeping the law. If that were so, then faith would have no value [v.14]. Instead law brings about wrath because it exposes man’s sinfulness. It is important for you to know that even Abraham was justified by faith and counted righteous before the law of circumcision v. 10. Thus salvation is by faith in Christ alone. There is nothing you can do to appease God for your salvation. Salvation is attained in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, which is achieved through faith. Note that if you do not receive the righteousness of Jesus, you will be judged under the Law.
Meditate on verse 14. What is God teaching you in this verse?
Father, in the name Jesus Christ, thank You for choosing me to be a coheir with Jesus Christ, my Saviour and King. Amen.
